Hey it’s Garrett from Shine Afternoons and my son Nathan not only turned 9-years old over the weekend, but his Pinewood Derby car came in first place at his race Saturday night too. Now the awesome thing is HE did most of the work on the car. I helped him cut it out, but he sanded, painted and did the work on his car by himself. He called it his Jesus car by the way as he painted a “J” on one side for Jesus, and a “G” on the other side for God. I am really proud of the job that he did, and he was SO surprised that his car took first place. How about you…is there something that you watched your child do that you could have helped them do, but when it was all said and done the made a difference or did something really awesome (like winning a Pinewood Derby)? Oh, and if you have a picture showing your kiddos doing it…share that too!
