We were in a shop the other day and I saw this plaque that had this quote on it. I read it out to you and it said, “Marriage is that in which each appoints the other guardian of his solitude.” You said, “Ya that’s true,” and I said, “What does that mean exactly?”
I’m not sure I really know what he meant by that, but I know that I want to be respected and I want to do the same for you. If you have things you need to pursue, hobbies or just some time to think and reflect, I want to give you that kind of space in life.
To kind of respect each other’s individuality and identity. Friend, think about that in your own relationship. Can you appoint each other guardian of your solitude?
